Last weekend, the high school quiz bowl team traveled to Michigan State University for the Quiz Bowl State Championship.  This is a double elimination tournament. Saline faced Petoskey in the first match and won 775 to 180. The second match was a hard fought match against University of Detroit Jesuit High School with Saline losing 460 to 600.   On Saturday, Saline won against Harry S. Truman High School and Port Huron High School.  In a sudden death tie breaker, Saline lost to Utica Academy for International Studies.  Members of the Quiz Bowl team are Noel Bhattacharyya, Michael Doa, Andrew Gabanyicz, Connor Healy, Vishal Subramanian, Karl Winsor, Chad Antonelli, Louisa Antonelli, Marc Barbret, Aaron Pollack, and Florian Van Kampen Wright. The varsity team had a very successful season by placing fifth in the state and winning the Washtenaw County League tournament.

From Lambersart to Saline

The French Invasion of Saline is underway!  Twenty students from Lambersart, France arrived in Saline on Saturday, April 21 as part of the French-American exchange program that Saline Schools have participated in since 2006.

While they are here, they will live with their Middle School counterparts, enjoying uniquely Michigan experiences, which will include tours of Detroit and the University of Michigan.

They will return to France on Saturday, May 5th, but that will not be the end of their experience.  A month later, as soon as Saline Middle school lets out for the summer, our students will travel to France to stay with their French families for two weeks.
